I've never written a review on this website before but seeing "Up" last night inspired me to do so.
I can not say enough about this film. It was truly wonderful from beginning to end. A terrific, heart-warming tale that was vibrant and hilarious as well as deeply touching and poignant. This is really Pixar at their best.
We (my girlfriend, another friend and I) didn't even mention the magnificent animation and the abundance of talent that goes in to making something so visually spectacular as we were entirely caught up in the film as a whole.
Why can't the people who write and produce so called "real motion pictures" create films with such depth and marvel. The characters and ultimately the plot is what captures our imaginations. Great to see a film that focusses on what's important rather than filling it with special effects and explosions in order to gloss over the fact that they have no plot, characters or purpose.
Do yourself a favor see "Up". Bring some tissues though as I was covered in my girlfriends mascara after the first 5 minutes!!!

Fantastic movie for young and old! All will feel the adventure, sadness, and fun. Ed Asner's voice is perfect for Mr. Fredricksen who takes off on the trip he and his late wife were never able to complete. The talking dogs and snipe hunting are hilarious. Highly recommended.

I didn't really like this latest Pixar installment. While the 1st 25 minutes was superb, the rest of the movie plodded along with a ridiculous and silly story line. I didn't like the kid,or the explorer or the dogs- Ive seen much better character development in all of the other Pixar flix. Its a shame the poignant message at the beginning wasn't expanded thru the film and made into a real message. The 3-D stuff was OK, but rarely exploited the format. IMO, the only weak Pixar film to date.
